Meet the Team - Jen
We stumbled upon Jen via a chance Twitter conversation way back in early 2015 and she joined the team soon after. With a degree in Fashion Marketing and hair that changes colour on an almost weekly basis, she was a stylish addition to the team (she asked us to write that) and blended in straight away.
Jen is the Community Manager at Sunshine Communications. Having previously worked at agency and in-house she has a strong background in all aspects of digital marketing as well as plenty experience in PR, communications, events and retail.
Jen is passionate about helping brands find their voice online and developing a tone that customers can really engage with. She is the go to girl when it comes to stellar customer service, sassy puns and creative copy. At present Jen works mainly on our accounts for Edinburgh Airport and EXO Travel.
What’s your favourite thing about working at Sunshine Communications?
There’s a massive focus on positivity at Sunshine, which makes for a great working environment. Everyone is keen to work together, do the best for clients and collectively develop our skills – we’re all pleased to be here and I think it really comes across in our work.
What’s your favourite quote?
I’m not a big one for quotes but I do like “Not all those who wander are lost”, from the poem by J R R Tolkien. I’m completely aware it’s a little bit of a cliché, but it reminds me to just stop, take time and really enjoy the moment. I can definitely be guilty of being too much of a planner.
What’s your favourite social media platform?
I tend to go through phases with social media – who doesn’t? A while back I felt like I didn’t get the Snapchat hype so I made an effort to learn more about it. Now I’m completely addicted. In the morning I get up and check for new filters!
I also recently got engaged so I’m sure Pinterest is about to become my new best friend.
When I’m not working you’ll find me….
You’ll most likely find me with my friends and family, baking, constantly decorating my flat (I’m a bit mad on interiors) or watching trashy tv with my cat. I’m also a bit of beauty fiend so you’re also really likely to find me in the hairdressers, getting my nails done or having a spa day with my friends!
Where would be at the top of your bucketlist…
I love to travel and there are so many places I still want to see. I spend so much time writing and researching facts on Southeast Asia that Vietnam might have to be my next stop or maybe a honeymoon in Bali!
