Our favourite posts from #PancakeDay!

I’m sure you haven’t failed to notice that yesterday was National Pancake Day! Yay! Social media was flooded with delicious images of stacked pancakes all day, and #PancakeDay was trending on Twitter.

We’ve decided to take a look at a few of the brands that shook things up, and opting for a more creative approach than simply a plate of chocolate covered pancakes with strawberries.

Samsung

Samsung used pancake day to promote their new super thin camera lens. This is a great piece of content, and by comparing the lens to the thinness of a pancake it really helps the consumer visualise it

A simple, fun and effective post – we’re a big fan of this.

Fearne Cotton

Even the celebrities are jumping on the back of Pancake Day with Fearne Cotton using Pancake Day today to remind women to #CoppaFeel. This campaign urges women to regularly check their breasts for signs of breast cancer, showing a serious take on a fun and light-hearted day.

Well done Fearne, 10/10.

Samaritans

Even charities were getting involved with Pancake Day, as Samaritans have shown here. The message is really clear and easy to digest – if anything the content is a little simplistic but it works. Days such as #PancakeDay allow the opportunity for brands to really mix up the sort of content they’re sharing and this is a great example.

It shows if you think about it hard enough, you can probably use just about any National Holiday to fit your brand.

Asda

Asda successfully used #PancakeDay to ‘pull back the curtain’. This means giving users an insight into the behind the scenes, and in many ways celebrate the usually unsung hero. Asda used #PancakeDay to allow customers to feel closer to the brands and build up a stronger relationship.

Again – another success story for Pancake Day!

Edinburgh Gin

Mmm gin and pancakes – what’s not to love here!?

This is a great piece of content from Edinburgh Gin, that literally makes the mouth water. Perfectly pairing their brand with delicious pancakes it stirs all kinds of excitement in the viewer – an excitement then hopefully associated with Edinburgh Gin. Short copy and a good use of hashtags, this is the perfect post from an alcohol brand for Pancake Day.
