Our 6 Favourite Free Tools for Creatives

At Sunshine we’re all about working smarter. There are loads of tools out there for creatives that make work faster and easier. Here is a list of some favourites that we use in the office to make life simple and keep the quality content pumping.

1. Unsplash

Looking for royalty free imagery for your blog? Unsplash has a huge library of beautiful pictures that you can use for free under a creative commons licence. This isn’t your standard ‘stock imagery’, it has a modern, professional feel and a massive variety of themes. You don’t have to credit the creator but it’s always nice to give them a nod where you can.

2. AdParlor

Want to help your client visualise your creative in-situ? AdParlor covers all the main social platforms and allows you to create professional looking mock-ups with ease. You will need to sign up but it’s worth it for this versatile tool that will make your presentations look polished.

3. Fotor

Want to create professional imagery but don’t know how to use Photoshop? Fotor is here to save the day. You can create collages, edit pictures and they have a range of design templates you can use for Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube and even Banner Ads. This site gives you the freedom to create eye-catching designs without paying for an expensive piece of software.

Dredown lets you download videos from a range of platforms just by copying the URL into their site. Youtube, Facebook, Instagram and Vimeo are all there as well as more obscure sites like Keek, Metacafe and Twitch. It’s totally free and there’s no sign-up required.

5. Small PDF

Don’t want to pay for the premium features in Adobe Reader? No worries. Small PDF will let you edit, eSign, compress, combine, and convert for free. You don’t need to create an account and although there is a premium option, everything you need is in-front of the paywall.

6. WeTransfer

Need to send files but hampered by email attachment limits? With WeTransfer you can send up to 2GB for free. You can also create a download link by clicking the button with the three dots, this lets you share it easily in messaging services like Slack.
