Been a while, hasn't it?

May Sunshine Update Hero

Can you believe it’s nearly the end of May?

I’m glad to say we’ve waved goodbye to the winter, though the Beast of the East has to go down as our favourite moment of 2018 so far (yes, really).

We’re now rolling towards the summer months, enjoying the better weather and good vibes all round. I’m well overdue an update, so here’s a roundup of what’s been going on at Sunshine HQ this half of 2018…

New faces to the team

Back in April, I met the lovely Ben Black from Get Give Creative. We became buddies and one day I came up with a masterplan to ask him if he wanted to merge with Sunshine and bring his great clients and his incredible talent with him.

After many coffees at Williams Bros (check out that hipster hang out) we signed on the dotted line.

Ben starts on 1st June as a Senior Content Producer and is bringing his clients with him, which includes doing the social content for the mighty Brewgooder. He’s already survived his first Sunshine night out (arm wrestling did take place) and we’re so excited for him to join the gang.

We’re also welcoming Collette Reid in the summer, who will be joining as our Social Media Team Assistant/PA taking our team up to 10 people… Cue another office move coming soon!

Another new face: Zola

If you've spent more than a minute on my Instagram, you'll see that I got a puppy and haven’t stopped talking about it since. If you didn't know already, she's called Zola and she's a cross between a lab and a golden retriever.

A talented wee pup, I'm training her to be a guide dog for the next year... You know, with all the that free time that I have in between running a business, keeping fit, sleeping and trying to maintain a social life(!).

She is definitely the cutest team member we’ve ever had. Don't you think?

Sunshine 2.0 – Bigger, bolder & brighter

At the start of this year, we recognised that Sunshine was moving into a sunny new phase and wanted our brand to reflect that. I’ve always loved how colourful Sunshine’s brand is, so we decided to take it one step further (all the while, showcasing the great projects we work on!)

Designed by my talented Senior Creative, Chris, we started with a refresh to our website and continue to roll out across our communications – even our reports. Keep an eye on our website for even more case studies and lots planned for the year ahead.

Whilst you're here, why not have a wee nosy at what we've been up to?

New clients, new projects

Along with the 4 clients Ben is bringing with him, we’ve also pitched and won a handful of new clients this year, with even more in the pipeline.

We’re delighted to be working with Your Housing Group, Nuvu Living, Cruise Loch Ness, Bitrex and Mia’s Kitchen – a real mix of leisure, food and drink, housing and pharmaceutical clients.

We’re doing a mix of content creation, community management, events, live social media, paid social and even a little print work for these clients.

We’re always out and about doing content visits, but a highlight this year was the trip to Fort Augustus when some of the team got to zoom about Loch Ness in speedboats. Check out our Instagram for the stories and pics. And yes the Loch Ness Monster does exist.

Needless to say, we're also thrilled to continue our relationships with our existing clients and have also expanded our services. In particular, we've been doing lots of brand development, most recently working on the brand identity for BLASH Beauty.

Good vibes

The culture at Sunshine is always a positive one, but I work extra hard to maintain that culture as we grow, and make sure the team are happy and motivated at work.

Along with flexible working and nights out a plenty, I am working on some new developmental and wellbeing initiatives. Watch this space…

To sum up, 2018 has been fast and definitely furious and I’m focussed and excited for the rest of the year.
